Rowan Gates
Rowan has had over 20 years experience in consulting and Human
Resource Development. This experience has been gained in a variety of
roles, both as an internal practitioner and an external consultant. These
experiences have been with a broad range of industries and in a number
of different organisational and geographical cultures.
Working with a number of global companies, with particular recent
focus on the Asia-Pacific, Sub Continent and Australian region, Rowan
has worked and consulted in over 20 different countries. He specialises
in the cultural adaption of global/corporate programs for effective
cross- cultural and local learning.
Recent Projects include
- Cultural modification and facilitation of corporate leadership
and management programs to teams across the Asia Pacific
region for a global IT company. This work also included the
role of lead consultant in the co-facilitating, teaming and
coaching of internal facilitators.
- Designing and delivering the annual top management team
conference for a major sports channel in the Asia-Pacific
region. The conference and workshops successfully achieved
the beginning of the transition for a "siloed" collection of JVs
to a "collaborative" cohesive team of partnerships focussed on
a shared and agreed vision.
- Created an divisional wide intervention for a leading Bank,
aimed at building a strong shared culture and approach to how
their senior managers interfaced and sold to their high net
worth customers. The intervention was aimed at changing the
current style of "product flogging" to that of a consultative
approach that uncovered and developed the customers real
needs.
On the personal side, Rowan enjoys life in Perth, Western Australia
where he lives with his wife and two children. He is a keen beach goer,
and "tries" to run and swim daily when he is not travelling. He also can
be frequently found on the golf course and the tennis court.
